De Werf Trail run, in partnership with Dragonfly Tri

Our inaugural trail run through the vineyards kicked things off, and what a breathtaking start!
A crisp sunrise illuminating the Platteland, with eager participants lacing up their running shoes for an adventure-filled morning. Teaming up with the fantastic folks at DragonFly Tri who mapped the route that showcased the best of our surroundings, did an excellent job with all the logistics for the day, and marketed the event brilliantly.
Now, our team had our guesses on how many runners would join in the fun, with my hopeful heart aiming for 80 participants. As luck would have it, the weather smiled upon us, and a whopping one hundred and seventy spirited runners turned up, surpassing our wildest expectations! And let’s not forget the pets – the number of dogs bounding along the trail was a pleasant surprise, it was so great to see “every man, woman and their dog” at our venue!
A massive shoutout goes to everyone who set their alarms early to join us for the run – we really appreciate your support.
And thank you to our amazing food vendors at the market, who started firing up their ovens & fires bright and early. Roosterkoek before 7am sure taste good!
